Jason leads by example, pushing to create practical, functional, human-centric places that allow the individuals who live, work and play in them to thrive. His drive for finding clear, constructable solutions with long term thinking works well with his focus on innovation in building components and envelope technologies, and his ongoing hands-on learning and teaching approach to construction. He seeks to understand a client’s needs first, and deliver a project that fulfils not only needs but also removes barriers and supports continued growth and development.
My Story
His prior work spans a wide variety of sectors including public sector, commercial, and residential fields including single and multi-family housing, care facilities and specialty healthcare fields, restaurant and hospitality as well as primary education, public recreation, theatre, and high security information technology. Part of his experience was developed working in project management both in the public and private sectors, giving him an in depth understanding of client / consultant / contractor relationships. This breadth of experience is one of his strongest assets, bringing solutions from new fields to work and in bringing disparate groups together.
Jason’s volunteer experience includes roles that demonstrate his ability in building the supports necessary for something to flourish: He was the Site & Operations director for Strathearn Art Walk (2014-2020), helping build a small community market into a festival that attracts 35,000 attendees annually. He also fulfilled roles within his community league and for Edmonton Public Library. Jason has also built three houses, finishing the most recent in 2025, with each one incorporating different strategies towards sustainability and energy conservation suited to the specific location where it was built.
